About
Us

6-Year
Anniversary!
As the Summer of 2005 ends, AutismInfo has surpassed 1.2 million
visitors!
Since
inception, in November of 1998, AutismInfo.com has grown to become
one of the most popular, and often visited autism
sites on the internet, currently ranked #25 in the Google search
rank.
Founded
by Merritt Island,
Florida
residents Jenny and Brad Middlebrook,
the Site provides information on autism treatments and therapies
to parents, teachers, therapists and doctors. Brad Middlebrook
describes
one goal of "providing balanced information to parents of
newly diagnosed kids."
To
date, the site, maintained from the Middlebrook's home in Merritt
Island, Florida, has answered over 4,000 email questions from
persons around
the world. "We have provided information to parents in Kenya,
Russia, Singapore and around the United States." Middlebrook
says, "we try to update the site daily, and answer email
questions as soon as possible after we receive them.
The
site is an informational site dedicated to providing current and
useful information on autism, and does not raise money or revenues
from advertising. The
layout, site design and maintenance are done by Brad Middlebrook.
The
Middlebrooks are parents of a nine year-old child with autism.
Their daughter attends a small private autism school where
she receives intensive verbal behavior and speech therapies.

Many
thanks to Jim McCall for his daily
contibutions to AutismInfo.com
Jim's
Bio:
Jim McCall tries to stay on top of
Autism news by subscribing to e-mail newsletters, visiting Autism
web sites, and
almost daily searches of google news. He looks for university programs & medical
specialties in Autism. He also visits clinicaltrials.gov to see
what is new.
Jim and his wife Valerie live in Oklahoma with their Autistic
son and his older sister. They enjoy family time at
the park
and walking the dog. Their son is in an Autism class in the public
school. He said that without a personal relationship with Christ
he does not know how he would remain hopeful raising a child
with a disability.
To maintain perspective he attends church and reads the bible
to place his hope in God. These verses are a great source of
personal
encouragement.
Romans 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither
angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any
powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all
creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that
is in Christ
Jesus our Lord.
A
special Thanks! to:
Jenny Middlebrook R.N.,
and autism mom and Amy
Adams,
Behavior Therapist for devoting so much of their time
to answering visitor emails.
To date, we have answered over 4,000 emails from around the world.
Additional
thanks to Jan Middlebrook and Dr.
Jeff Bradstreet, M.D., for
their contributions to AutismInfo.
Our
Vision:
Our
goal is to provide parents, particularly those with newly diagnosed
kids, a good source of information. We believe that there are
many
treatments and therapies available and all have helped some kids.
However none have helped every kid. Treating autism can produce
tangible results. Through diet, medical intervention, behavioral
therapies, and nutritional supplementation, these kids are making
remarkable progress, and many are now "indistinguishable" among
their peers. If kids are feeling better physically, it is reasonable
to think their therapies will be more effective.
