Raun Kaufman and Brad Middlebrook Raun Kaufman of the Option Institute was diagnosed at age two as severely autistic and mentally retarded. Raun, with the help of his parents, has overcome his early challenges and has recently graduated from Brown University. His experience is documented in the best seller, "Son-Rise, The Miracle Continues" by Barry Neil Kaufman, his father. Raun is an inspiration and is now helping others through the Son-Rise Program.
