Rep. Chris Smith is the co-founder of the Congressional Autism Caucus. In addition, Smith was responsible for a landmark autism investigation in Brick Township, New Jersey, which looked into the possible existence of an autism “cluster”. The investigation revealed that the prevalence of autism in Brick was more than three times the national average.
